Hello everyone,
May I say what an eventful few weeks it has been in the newsletter world!!
WOW!
It’s so great to see so much exciting news for all those newsletter actors. And one of those actors being Duuce makes it even greater!
But what does it mean for Duuce, for all the characters in this story, and for You? (changes yes, but how?)
First, why sell Duuce and why now?
Here is some context: Kevin and Mayane (co-founders of DotMarket, the #1 European marketplace for buying and selling digital assets) acquired Duuce in January 2022, allowing them to make their first step into the US market!
That being said, they also launched Below50.eu a few months later (a marketplace dedicated to selling side businesses under $50 000) And the launching went great, and it became the main focus of the team.
Duuce on the other side, was on a younger market that was still developing and needed to mature more before reaching its potential and needed time and money to be invested which were not DotMarket’s priority at the time.
That’s when Scott came into the picture and offered Kevin and Mayane not only an exit, but the same vision of what Duuce could and should become/stay: a leading name in the Newsletter Acquisition Business.
Kevin, Mayane and their team decided to re-focus on DotMarket and Below50 for now to be able to give them their full attention.
The Duuce adventure is now over for them, but it continues for me (Aurélie). After spending 3 great years with an amazing team and leaders at DotMarket, I now get the chance to work with a new team of all so talented people at Wisdom Media, and be able to accompany Duuce all the way to its success. :)
Wish me luck!!
Who is taking over Duuce? What does it entail for you?
The Wisdom Group with Scott at its head is taking over Duuce.
He has acquired 40+ assets in the newsletter world, from Sponsorships.com to Duuce, with around 20 newsletters in AI and other niches and other tools like Lettergrowth.
The main goal of these acquisitions will be to consolidate them to offer customers every service possible and imaginable to solve all problems around Newsletters. It will take a little time, but it’ll be worth it!
Duuce will keep operating the same way for now with of course a few changes to come in the near future which we are looking forward to.
What will become of News’Letter Market?
We will have a special issue dedicated to a deep dive into Scott’s vision and what News’Letter market will become/ where we meet again.
In the meantime, we will have a regular episode with:
The Newsletters for sale on Duuce and the one we sold
The Newsletter for sale on other platforms
The News of the week
And the Pick of the week
Let’s go!
Newsletter for sale and sold!
Twice a month, we gather a bunch of quality newsletters for sale on the market. Cause well… We DO know you mostly subscribed for that.
Duuce’s Newsletter for sale:
We did post a newsletter in the AI niche for sale last week, and it already sold.
The crypto newsletter sold as well. Follow our Twitter account to catch the threads with more details on those sales this week.
Some more newsletters for sale will be posted in the next few days.
Stay tuned!
2 Newsletters for sale on other platforms:
Disclaimer: All newsletters listed above on Duuce have been audited by our team, we cannot give any guarantee for the following ones listed on other platforms. Please run your own due diligence :-) !
Acquire listed 2 new ones:
Tinyacquisitions listed 2 new ones in AI…but sold them already.
What’s up in the news?
Every two weeks, we curate cool news and stuff we think could help you create and grow your newsletter from all over the place. (It also helps us)
A lot happened, some news you must have seen and some other ones:
Let’s start with the acquisition of Sparkloop (#1 newsletter growth platform) by ConvertKit (Nathan Barry’s mailing tool). It’s a big and smart move from both parties. Looking forward to seeing what their next step will be.
Kevin Jourdan gave us a Twitter thread on the sale of Duuce and what will be next for him now. Yes, it’s in French. :)
Beehiiv raises $12.5M series A led by Lightspeed Venture Partners, paving the way for the next million creators, publishers, and companies to scale and monetize their audiences. Tyler Denk is really fighting to be the market leader; it seems to be the theme of the month!
A nice reminder about welcome series for newsletters from Dan Oshinsky. We haven’t done it for News’Letter Market, but it’s never too late to connect! Check it out!
And I am just being told that Scott Oldford bought another asset, nobody is safe :) Congrats to Newsletter.co for joining the Wisdom Media family. More on that in the next issue.
PICK OF THE WEEK FROM OUR DIRECTORY.
We have a FREE directory where 480+ Newsletters registered to get more visibility (feel free to go register your Newsletter if you are interested as well).
And we would like to give a shout-out to one Newsletter per issue, one that stands out.
This week, we chose Tumbleweed Words, a newsletter of fiction, poetry, and culture written by David a very creative writer.
For those who like poems and art, it’s a great read.
That’s it for us.
We'll see you in 2 weeks with some new updates!
Until then, keep up the great work!
Cheers
